Supposed to rain…..

We decided to save a few indoor things for when it rained…. But other than a little sprinkle overnight it was just cloudy and a little windy.

Anyway… we kept to the plan. Took the train to Haymarket. closest station to Paddy’s market. Pretty crazy, busy place. Lots of cheap deals but also some just simply cheap stuff as well. Still it was touted as the place to go and see.

After a wander around and a couple of purchases we took the elevator (lift, if I’m to keep to the local vernacular) to the upper floor. Lo and behold there was a mall… T J Max and other stores. So, I planted Ken in a comfy chair with several other husbands 😅 and went to check them out. Those who know me know I’m not a shopper… well, not for clothes anyway. Now, housewares and building, renovating supplies and crafts! I’m there!

One end of Chinatown

That didn’t take long, much to Ken’s delight and we left to go see Chinatown. Really didn’t seem any bigger or better than our one in Victoria so we didn’t stay around. Since the weather had improved we thought to wander in a Hyde Park. a little cafe at the one end provided a respite from walking and a little sustenance before exploring.

There is a monument there, Anzac memorial. Had no idea what it was until we were able to read the plaques. It is a world war 11 memorial.

Not a large park but lovely, well organized respite from the city around it. Shallow paddling pond and amazing trees and birds.

The Ibis
Seen all over where we’ve been.
Not a loved bird here apparently.

We walked back toward Barangaroo as it was still only late afternoon. Found a place we could have an early dinner. Shared a special of the day as it was plenty enough for 2. Well, for us anyway. Bistro 19 Along the boardwalk there.

Various meats kebabs with olives and salad and fries. Came with a chimichurri sauce that was very tasty!

That’s all for today folks!
