On to the next venue. Sydney to Melbourne. Researching, I thought a train would be good so we could see scenery since we had decided not to rent vehicles this time. However, it seemed all the times were for overnight…. So! Air it is! At 1 hr and 10 minutes (plus all the wait time of course) it seemed the best option. In Australia air travel wasn’t expensive, overnight on the train would have been more unless we cat up all night….. did I mention we’re “past our sell by date”!!
Well, we thought we were high in the sky at our hotel in North Sydney but eek! 36th floor of 55 storey hotel, downtown Melbourne. New hotel. Floor to ceiling windows! 😳 after a few days we are getting used to it.

Craziest was seeing ropes outside the window from the guys cleaning the outside of them. Not on a platform but just harnessed in! Would not be a good career choice for me!
Didn’t do much the next day. Groceries and getting acquainted with the area.
We did meet up with a ‘friend of a friend of a friend….’ Stella! Had a sushi lunch with her outside the building where she works.
Then… Lo and behold.. what we never ran into in Sydney was our spiritual family at the literature carts.
Funny experience though.. and how an accent changes a name. One person’s name she said was “Massy”. Sounded different but I didn’t question until later when thinking about it. Just like when I first met someone in Canada named ‘Don’. However, when I saw it written I realized it was DaWn. 😅 so this name then was not Massy but MaRcy! Just needed my Aussie voice.
Very hot today. 34c ended up back at the hotel for AC respite and a nap… well, not me but Ken 😀
Stayed local for dinner. Network sports bar at the Southern Cross train station just a block away. One steak sandwich…. And one grilled Barramundi and chips. Found a beer he likes. Carlton Draught. Made all over and good.
Next day is very early start for Great Ocean Road Tour! So…. Zzzzz
