Tuesday was our last day in Melbourne. I spent a little time shopping…. Of course! Then we did take the tourist team (#35) around the city. We travelled as far as the parliament buildings. No tours that day but outside architecture was impressive.

The tourist tram is an old one and not air conditioned! By the time we arrived at the Parliament buildings it was crammed full and hot. There is a commentary about the historic buildings of the city so can be useful for newbies to the area. However, a little uncomfortable on a hot day, which it was. So we took whatever tram we found on to Flinder’s station where we found our way to the boardwalk down by the river for a cooler stroll.
Again, met several at carts. Representing three congregations. Australian sign, Chinese and Vietnamese. Had a lovely chat and then kept walking. Found our way back up to Flinder’s street where we took a tram several stops to Spenser Street where the Southern Cross train station is and ate a casual sushi lunch.
Then it was time to get back to the hotel where we had left our bags, and a taxi to the airport.
No delays or issues for our flight on to Adelaide and only about 10 minutes to Glenelg and into our hotel.
This part of our trip is to be more laid back. Less city and more beach and water views. We’re not ‘beach bunnies’ so walks and paddles but no laying in the sun.
Lovely hotel by all accounts, but a few things are not what we had at the ones in Sydney and Melbourne. Give and take….
