Adelaide

Pretty hot so tried to get started a bit earlier than we had been so to take advantage of a few degrees cooler than in the pm.

Kind of temperatures we saw while there.

We bought travel cards and headed in on the tram. Conveniently located right at the pier of Glenelg where we stayed. Travelling in only took about 25 minutes and we got off at Victoria Square.

Just up the road is the Adelaide Market. Mostly full of fruit and vegetable stalls, of which we needed little. Ken did find some grapes he had to have. Liked the look of them and when he had the chance to eat them, found them the best he’d had!

One stall had health food things and I spied some nut butters. One in particular caught my eye. Macadamia nut and pistachio. So I bought some to try. Wow! Rich and creamy and very yummy! I’ll have to try to find something similar at home…or a way to make it…. 🤔

Doesn’t look as good as it tastes 😂

We are loving the sourdough breads here. There was one stall selling some particularly tasty looking loaves.

We decided on some lunch while we were there and chose some Chinese food. Pretty good and filled the spot so we could carry on.

The State Library of South Australia was next.

The first room we came across was actually a display of old radios and the history of it in australia. We met an older couple, volunteers, and got into conversation with them. They’ve actually been to Vancouver Island and in fact are going again this summer to visit relatives there. Gave them our email so we may hear from them and take them for a drive to see something they haven’t done.

Onward, to the actually historically significant library building.

Wow, just like the one in Melbourne, it is very much worth seeing.

So many books on the upper shelves and people using the area for study. On the ground floor we spent some time looking at the exhibits.
that was enough for us as the heat was by then excessive! Happy to get onto our air conditioned tram and back to the hotel for the same.
